Lubec – On Friday, August 19, 2011, Dot passed away peacefully into the hands of God at Oceanview Nursing Home in Lubec. Doris was born in Dorchester, MA on December 21, 1922, daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Call) Woodworth. In addition to her parents, Dot was predeceased by husbands Sherman Denbow and Douglas Doble; a son Paul Denbow who was the love of her life; and two brothers, Frank and Charles Woodworth. Surviving are her sister, Marjorie Holmes; a brother Raymond Woodworth; half-sisters Edna Bailey and Lois Byram; step-daughter Jan Brown; special niece Pauline Doble-Trepanier; grandchildren Leonard Brown, Maureen Hooper and Aaron Brown; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Doris dedicated her life to family and friends, and truly blessed us all with the lessons of hardwork, integrity, fairness and loyalty to all. For all of us she touched and influenced, we will be eternally grateful. A celebration of Doris’ life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, at the Lubec Christian Temple Church with a reception immediately after the service. Burial will be at Green Lawn Cemetery in Lubec. Donations in Dot’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
