Houlton and Dennysville – Doris Mary Pottle, 98, passed away on February 25, 2018 at Madigan Estates Nursing Home in Houlton. Doris was born in Dennysville on September 21, 1919, the only daughter of Leon and Lula (Ward) Dudley.
She graduated from Dennysville High School, Class of 1936. She is survived by two sons, Malcolm Pottle and wife Marion of Millinocket and Herbert Pottle and wife Judy of Littleton; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Doris was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker, and her skills were appreciated by her family. Doris enjoyed going on picnics, especially around Mt. Katahdin and the surrounding lakes. While in the nursing home, she went on weekly rides and occasional picnics.
In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Pottle in 2006; five brothers; and two nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5th at Dennysville Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the Madigan Nursing Home staff for their excellent professional and compassionate care given to Doris.
