Calais – Doris E. Curran Tracy, 79, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the North Street Bridge Home in Calais. Doris was born in Calais on June 6, 1928, daughter of the late Seth and Mildred (James) Bartlett. She was employed for many years as a waitress in Calais for the Motor Inn and the Wickachee. Doris was a lifetime member of the Sherman Bros. American Legion Auxiliary Unit 3. She enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling and spending time with her family. Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by a brother, and six sisters. Surviving are her seven children, Gerald Curran and his partner Roleigh Newman of Lakeland, FL, John Curran and his wife Faye of Wolfeboro, NH, Shelia Curran of Englewood, FL, Sherry Lyons and her husband Kent of Calais, David Curran and his wife Nancy Walker of Calais, Peter Curran of Calais, and Miriam Ruff and her husband Kevin of Englewood, FL; eleven grandchildren, Michelle, Troy, Gina, PJ, Lynn, Jillian, Christina, Sonya, Michael, David and Rachel; fourteen great-grandchildren, Ari, Juliene, Emily, RJ, Dylan, Tyler, Autumn, Damien, Grace, Aiden, Michael, Caleb, Casey and Caitlin; two sisters, Verna Merrill and Barbara Crompton; four brothers, Frank, Harold, Ronald and Edward Bartlett; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Katherine “Tish” Porter and her family, Paula McVicar, Betty Hornbrook, Debbie McFarlane, Debbie Rogers, Sonny Ingersoll, Thurma Roberts, and many other friends. Friends may call 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Calais Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dot’s memory may be made to Down East Hospice, 24 Hospital Ln, Calais, ME 04619.
