Baileyville – Dorothy Louise Cokayne, 80, has passed away and gone to be in the Lord’s hands on Friday, December 15, 2006 at Atlantic Rehab & Nursing Center. Dorothy was born in Loveland, Colorado on November 13, 1926 to the late Lee and Marian (Naylor) Cornell. She owned and operated Carousel Draperies for many years. Upon retirement, Dorothy stayed active with quilting and china painting. She relocated to Baileyville and attended the Woodland Baptist Church. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. Dorothy was loved by all and will be remembered as a self-sacrificing woman. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Cokayne Sr.; her daughter, Ellen Williams Swan; a step-son, Henry Cokayne Jr; and four brothers and two sisters. Surviving are her children, Marian Florer and Harold Cokayne and his wife Karen, all of Baileyville; two sisters, Joyce Morgan of Ordway, CO and Mary Simonson of Mead, CO; four brothers, Robert Cornell of Pueblo, CO, Richard Cornell of Mead, CO, Edward Cornell of Firestone, CO, and Michael Cornell of Mead, CO; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
