Dorothy "Poochie" Glidden

Dorothy Muriel “Poochie” Glidden, 74, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Washington Place in Calais.  Poochie was born in Calais on October 13, 1948, daughter of Bruce and Dorothy (Damon) Linton.

After graduating from Calais Memorial High School, Class of 1966, Poochie worked at Ware Knitters and the Angelholm Restaurant.  On August 2, 1969, she married Richard Glidden.  Poochie then started her career as a CNA with Barnard’s Nursing Home, retiring with over 36 years of service.  She enjoyed spending time with family, crosswords, and watching TV.

In addition to her parents Bruce and Dorothy, Poochie was predeceased by a nephew, Jeremy; and a niece, Kelly.   Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Richard Glidden; a son Rev. Dr. Michael Glidden and wife Rhonda of Portland; grandson Sean Glidden and companion Lindsey of CT; two brothers, Bruce Linton and wife Babette of Winslow, and John Linton and wife Laurie of Calais; a niece Brandi Linton of Winslow; two nephews, Jason Linton and companion Tina of St. Petersburg, FL, Chris Linton and wife Gwen of Franklin, NH.
