Calais – Dorothy Winnifred James, 82, died unexpectedly Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Calais Regional Hospital. Dorothy was born in St. Stephen, N.B., January 14, 1924, daughter of the late John and Florence (Hanson) Goode. She graduated from Calais Academy, Class of 1941. Dorothy was employed by Calais Regional Hospital as a nurse’s aide for many years, then managed the meal site in Calais for Meals For Me. She was a Communicant of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, a member of the Happy Gang Senior Citizens, the W.T. Wren Unit #23 American Legion Auxillary of Baileyville, and was a Senior Companion. Dorothy enjoyed playing Bingo, cribbage, and bowling. She was predeceased by her husband, Arnold James; her loving companion of many years, Elliot Scott; a granddaughter, Karen James; and two brothers, Herbert and John Goode. Surviving are four children, Michael James and wife Marilyn of Baileyville, Arnold “Jim” James and wife Carolyn of Grand Lake Stream, Judith Norko and husband Paul of Glenburn, and Thomas James and wife Anne of Baileyville; nine grandchildren, John James and wife Nancy of South Princeton, Timothy James and wife Lynn of Calais, Greg James and wife Heather of Grand Lake Stream, Troy Norko and wife Denise of Bowdoin, Wendy Norko of Conn., Kim Wilcox and husband Mark of Presque Isle, Christina James of Bangor, Matthew James and wife Kylie of Bangor, and Christopher James of Baileyville; ten great-grandchildren, Andrew James, Thomas and Holly Stanhope, Taylor, Morgan and Courtney James, Tyler and Thomas Norko, and Kacey and Karson Wilcox; a special niece, Joanna Goode of Bangor, and many nieces and nephews.
