Calais – E. Michael Tocchio, 93, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at the Calais Regional Hospital. Michael was born in Quincy, MA, on March 31, 1916. After graduating from high school, he worked in the ship yards and joined the Army National Guard for several years. Michael eventually owned and operated his own construction company, building new homes and buildings. On Dec. 27, 1973, he married Patricia Hogue in St. Stephen and they soon relocated to the Calais area. Along with his wife, Michael owned and operated her family business, Pat’s Dairy Café on Whitney St. in Calais. He enjoyed reading, golfing and traveling. Surviving are his loving wife of over 35 years, Patricia Tocchio; two children, Louis Tocchio and his wife Sandra of Hudson, FL, and Judy Erikson and her husband Russell of Rockland, MA; a brother Otto Tocchio and his wife Marion of Fresno, CA; two grandchildren, James Tocchio and his wife Samantha of Hoboken, NJ, and Susan Leonard and her husband Kenneth of Weymouth, MA; and two great-grandchildren, Meghan and Emily Leonard. Visiting hours will be held 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church in Calais. Burial will be held 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Milltown Catholic Cemetery, N.B.
