Pembroke – Earl Raymond Lingley, 87, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. Earl was born in Edmunds on November 9, 1927, son of the late Alvery and Hope (Farley) Lingley. At a young age Earl started working in the woods with his father. He married Roberta Batron and together they had five children. Earl worked in Connecticut for Pratt & Whitney, Brown Brothers doing road construction, the local fish factories, drove school bus, and last was employed with Connors Brothers in Calais. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, Pembroke Trotting Association, and enjoyed playing cards. Earl’s passion was raising horses and spending time at the race track in Pembroke.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Roberta on June 12, 2014; an infant daughter Patricia Ann; son-in-law Robert Brown Jr.; five brothers, Harvey, Donald, George, Sumner, Mack and Harland “Mustard”; and a sister Gladys Stanhope. Surviving are his five children, Deanna Bard and her companion Ernest White of Sidney, Shirley Brown of Dennysville, Jerry Lingley and his wife Julia, Alvery Lingley and his wife Karin and Darrin Lingley and his companion Delilah Holland, all of Pembroke; ten grandchildren, Kimberly Pollard, Michelle York, Randy Brown, Joey Brown, Tonia Richendollar, Tiffany Lingley, Jerry Lingley, Shannon Smith, Nate Lingley and Amanda Bulmer; several great grandchildren and his special caretaker, Rhonda Kilton; two sisters, Mae Berry and Susie Kilton, both of Calais; a brother Clyde Lingley of Dennysville; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Clarkside Cemetery in Pembroke. Arrangements at Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
