Edwin Francis Earley Jr.

Eastport – Edwin F. Earley Jr., 80, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home, following a lengthy illness. Edwin was born in Paterson, N.J. on June 2, 1927, son of the late Edwin Earley Sr. and Emma Shauger. After graduating high school, Edwin joined the U.S. Navy, serving with the Naval Seabee’s during WWII. Following the war, he attended Rutger’s University. Edwin was employed as a graphic artist for New York University and other various corporations. Upon retirement, he relocated to Eastport in 1987. Edwin was an avid reader and enjoyed sailing and repairing bikes for area children. Surviving are his brother, Daniel Earley and his wife Helen of Eastport; two sisters, Emma Aaroe and her husband Donald of N.J., and Dorothy Lorch of New Zealand; many nieces and nephews; and his special nephew and caretaker, Edwin Earley and his wife Darbie of Eastport. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
