Elaine L. Perkins

Elaine L. Perkins, 88, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, surrounded by her loving family. Elaine was born September 9, 1935, in Calais, daughter of Kenneth and Lovina Cochran.

After Graduating from Princeton High School, she moved to New Jersey where she started her career with Ford Motor Company. After many years she returned home to start her family. After raising her family, she worked at Ames Department store in Calais in the Apparel Department. She enjoyed bird watching, gardening, reading, doing puzzles, and watching the Red Sox. One of her greatest loves was helping to take care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by husband George Perkins, parents Kenneth and Lovina Cochran, son George Perkins JR, great-grandson Sabastin Johnson, and siblings.

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Dianna Perkins, Bonnie Engroff, Rebecca Perkins and John Knowles SR, and Joyce Dawson and husband Keith Dawson; grandchildren, Justina Gidney and husband Zach Gidney, Amanda Engroff, Stephen Perkins, Kimberlee Dawson, Ashlee Henry and husband Jared Henry, and Elaine Perkins and fiancée John Johnson; great-grandchildren, Collin Fraser, Haileigh Gidney, Tristan Engroff, Masen Gidney, and Julian Jamison.

In keeping with Elaine’s wishes, there will be no services.  Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home Calais & Eastport
