She then served in the USO during World War II, and married her husband Daniel (Danny) Woodard on July 18, 1947. She and Danny then moved to Leesburg, Florida, although they spent most summers in Maine or with their daughter in Springfield, Massachusetts. They loved to travel, and went on several cruises. They visited Hawaii, Germany and many other European countries. They enjoyed camping, being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Elaine was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Daniel (Danny) Woodard in 2001, a brother Edward Claridge in 1960 and a son-in-law Dr. Lewis F. Pollak in 1996. She is survived by her son Thomas D. Woodard and his wife Shirley of Tavares, Florida; a daughter, Karen Littlefield and her husband Richard of Scarborough; two grandchildren, Sharene Woodard of Florida and Michael Nichols and his wife Christie of Arizona; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Claridge, a niece Carol Claridge Gardner and her son Patrick, a nephew Gerald Claridge, a cousin, Philip Ross and his wife Mavis, and many friends and family in Calais, Bangor, and the Leesburg, Florida area.
