Elizabeth Emerson

Reno, NV - Betty McDonough Emerson died unexpectedly July 9, 2010 at Renown Hospital in Reno NV. She was born December 11, 1939 in St. Stephen, NB, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Doyle McDonough of Woodland (Baileyville). Betty was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Hospital Nursing School, Nashua NH, was a registered nurse and was still working at the time of her death. She had worked at various times at Children’s Hospital in Washington, DC and for many years for Kaiser Permanente Health System in Gardena, CA and in San Jose, CA. Betty always made her friends and family laugh and she enjoyed making Japanese dolls, quilts and other crafts for her many grand nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed reading and traveling, especially to her timeshare on Kauai, Hawaii. She is survived by her son, William Emerson of Reno, her sister Nancy Lerandeau of Orofino, ID, her brother Richard McDonough and his wife Caroline of Palm City, FL, her brother Michael McDonough and his companion Carol Miller of Chestnut Hill, MA, her good friends Rosalie Williams of Cambridge, MA and Georgia Stevens, of Washington, DC and many loving nieces and nephews.
