Ella Robinson, 84, passed away Saturday, November 5, 2022, the date of birth of her beloved daughter Vicki Lynn who predeceased her 23 years ago.  Ella was born in St. John, NB, on May 2, 1938, daughter of the late Theodore and Irene (Gallant) Arsenault.

Growing up in Prince Edward Island, Ella was the third oldest, and first girl of 18 siblings.  In 1964 she moved to the United States and in 1966 married Jerry Robinson.  Ella raised her family and worked as a homemaker to various jobs from Ware Knitters, Head State of Calais, catering, Princeton Mobile, Treadwells, and ending her career with Irving Big Stop after many years of service.  Ella was an extraordinary seamstress, from making and altering wedding and prom gowns, hemming and replacing zippers in many jackets, and her knitted socks which were loved by all who owned them.  She was a lifelong Communicant of St. James the Greater Church in Baileyville. 

Ella is survived by her children, Diane Richard and husband Louis of Prince Edward Island, Susan Murphy and husband Michael of Baileyville, 1Sgt-R Kevin Robinson and wife Dawn of Evans Mill, NY, and Paula Robinson and fiancé Peter Hunnewell of Princeton; son-in-law Craig Hanson of Machias; grandchildren, Yolande Murphy and husband Brett and great-granddaughter Gracie of Prince Edward Island, Rejean Richard and fiancé Nadine McIntyre and great-grandchildren Ryan, Maella Maxine and Aleksy of Dalhousie, NB, Jessica Murphy and companion Andrew McBrine great-grandchildren Alayna and Tanner of Corinth, Katie Sawyer and husband Matthew and an expected baby boy, SPC Gregory Robinson and wife Robin and great-grandchildren Genevieve and Sophie of Evan Mills, NY, Krystal Kurzenberger and husband Daniel and great-grandchildren Eleanor and Tessa of Evan Mills, NY, Elisha Renaud and fiancé Jason Johnson and great-grandson Hunter of Baileyville, Nicole Mahoney and husband Ryan and great-grandson Dean of Waite, and John Hanson of Baileyville; and two special life-long friends, Nita White and Fran Engroff.

In addition to her parents, Ella was predeceased by her husband Jerry Robinson in 1989, daughter Vicki Lynn Hanson in 1999, brother and sisters-in-law, Andy, Pat and Florance; brothers-in-law John Herbert and Gille Chouinard; and four younger siblings, Gustave, Louise, and two infant twins. 

The family wishes to thank all who cared and took care of Ella and checked on her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022 at St. James the Greater Church, 60 Summit St., Baileyville.  Burial will follow in South Princeton Cemetery.  After the burial, a celebration of Ella’s life will be held at the home of Susan Murphy, 979 Houlton Rd., Baileyville.  Donations in Ella’s memory may be made to St. James the Greater, c/o St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, PO Box 898, Calais, ME 04619.  Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
