Elsie E. Brown

Grand Lake Stream – Elsie E. Brown, 75, passed peacefully at the Robbinston Bridge Home with Debbie, Lisa and her Bridge Home family by her side on April 21, 2017. Elsie was born to William and Elsie (Whynock) Fox on June 23, 1941 in Waltham, MA.

She worked for many years cleaning camps in Grand Lake Stream for several of the camp owners in town. Elsie loved to play bingo and shop and was known for her great love of animals. She was the mother and grandmother at the Bridge Home to all residence, staff and their families who spoiled her rotten and say that she could be a little ornery at times.

In addition to her parents, Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Brown; stepsons, Guy and Lawrence Brown and her sisters, Dorothy Cutler, Carol Fox Cutler and Madeline Fox Faford.

She is survived by her sister, Peggy Young of Buckfield; and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Elsie’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Interment will be at Village Cemetery in Grand Lake Stream at a later date. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
