Obituary for Emma Golding

Calais – Emma Golding, 103 ½ , died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at a Calais hospital. Emma was born in Pembroke, November 19, 1902, daughter of the late Fred and Flora (Ashby) Burke. She was employed as a clerk at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH, for many years. Emma was a member of the St. Croix Garden Club in Calais and was very talented playing the piano by ear. She enjoyed gardening and anything to do with nature, especially frogs. Emma was predeceased by her husband, James Golding; and two sisters, her twin Laura Kendall and Marian Burke. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Baetz and husband Donald of Amherst, OH, and Marjorie Clark of Georgetown, MA; two brothers, Leroy and Percy Burke, both of Robbinston; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Winnie Johnson and husband Richard of Robbinston. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, June 5 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in the Golding Cemetery in Perry.
