Estelle Ann Neptune, 82, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, May 8, 2023, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Estelle was born at Peter Dana Point on April 7, 1941, daughter of Horace and Mary (Tomah) Lola.
Estelle attended school at Peter Dana Point and married Benjamin Neptune Jr. For many years she worked as a cook for both Indian Township and Pleasant Point schools. Estelle loved cooking, visits from family and friends, talking on the phone to get caught up on local news, and helping anyone in need. Estelle had a passion for preserving the Passamaquoddy language and helped develop the Passamaquoddy-Maliseet Dictionary with her friends Philip LeSourd and Robert Leavitt.
In addition to her parents, Estelle was predeceased by her husband Benjamin Neptune Jr.; daughter Susan Mancilla; son Joseph Neptune; grandson Javier Morin; sisters Philomene Dana, Helen Zelinski, Anna Harnois, Lucille Moore, and Pauline Neptune; and brothers Frank and Ernest Lola. Surviving are her children, Christina Morin and husband Margarito of Sealy, TX, Horace Neptune and companion Tanya Brown of Princeton, Ernest Neptune and wife Melissa of Pleasant Point, and Benjamin Neptune III and fiancé Daleen Bowen of Pleasant Point; her sister Theresa Downing of Indian Township; grandchildren Charles Neptune and wife Liane, Nakoma Polches, Zachery and wife Alma Neptune, Kylie, Wiphun, and Ntusis Neptune, Alisia and companion Stephen McGinley II, Ruben, and Jessica Morin, Alison Trott, Horace Jr., Raymond, Brent, Noel, Benny, and Estelle Neptune, Derek, Dalton, and Landon Neptune, and Jessica Hersom, and Darian, Tre, and Elise Neptune; numerous great-grandchildren including Shaniah Neptune and Eliana McGinley; many nieces and nephews including Joseph Mitchell Sr., Jake Lola, Lisa Cox, Audrey Harnois, and Bernadette Francis and husband Gene; and special friends, Mary Creighton, Betty Mitchell, Gracie Davis, Lorraine Francis, Gracie Emmett, Tony Nicholas, and the beautiful Soctomah girls.
