Charlotte & Princeton – Evelyn R. McGlauflin, 99, died Thursday, July 5, 2007 at a Calais nursing home. Evelyn was born in Pembroke, April 20, 1908, daughter of the late John and Mabel (Sinclair) Roy. She married William H. McGlauflin in September, 1929. During the war, she worked for Hamilton Standard Propeller Co. in Hartford, CT. After the war, Evelyn came back to Charlotte and worked at Sunset Packing Co. in Pembroke. She was a member of Willowbrook Rebecca Lodge #131 in Pembroke. Besides her husband, Evelyn was predeceased by her son, Gordon, who was a war casualty in 1952; and a grandson, Michael Bryant in 1996. Surviving are her daughter, Norma “Arlene” Waycott of Princeton; three grandsons, Dennis and wife Libby Bryant, Anthony and Louise Colarusso, and Larry Colarusso; a granddaughter, Laura and Warrant Hunt; four great-grandchildren, Jeff Bryant, Kelly Bryant, Stephen Hunt and Adam Hunt; and a great-great grandson, Mitchell Townsend. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Round Pond Cemetery in Charlotte. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais. Friends may pay tribute at www.maysfuneralhome.com
