Pleasant Point – Fawn Marie Sapiel, 34, passed away unexpectedly on October 16, 2017 at her home. Fawn was born to Veronica Sapiel and Mark Baratta on February 23, 1983 in Machias. She grew up in Pleasant Point where she attended Beatrice Rafferty School. After graduating from Shead High School Fawn attended Washington County Community College where she earned her Culinary Arts degree.
Fawn loved life, she was laidback and carefree, she could sing and was a wonderful cook but above all she loved her family and was proud to call herself Native American.
She will be sadly missed by her mother, Veronica Sapiel of Pleasant Point; father Mark Baratta of OR; stepfather, Robert Mendoza of CA; three children, Janiya Sapiel of Pleasant Point, Zabaya Sapiel of Bangor and Timaya Sapiel of Pleasant Point; a sister, Miquan Sapiel of Pleasant Point; two brothers, Mikoo Mendoza and his partner, Janice Small of Pembroke and Forrest Sapiel of Calais; ten nieces and nephews and too many friends to name.
Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 19th until 2:00 p.m.,Friday at Veronica’s home, 17 Water Tower Rd., Pleasant Point.
