Princeton – Florence D. Rioux, 93, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015. Florence was born in Princeton on June 30, 1922, daughter of the late John and Maude (Crosby) Dwelley. She graduated from Princeton High School and moved to Portland where she worked for Walgreen’s Pharmacy. Florence eventually relocated to Connecticut where she worked for Veeder-Root in Hartford. While there she met her love, Martin J. Rioux, and they were married in 1948. Following her retirement from Veeder-Root in 1977, Florence and Martin wintered in Florida and summered in Princeton. She enjoyed traveling and staying active, especially swimming, riding her bicycle, and going out to eat.
In addition to her parents, Florence was predeceased by her husband Martin; her four siblings, Arnold, Alta, Nathalie, and Duane; special nephew Barry Dwelley; a niece Andrea Burke; and nephew Orland Dwelley. Surviving are her niece Joyce Dwelley of Baileyville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015 at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bristol, CT. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
