Floyd Allan McGlinchey passed away February 11, 2023, at Calais Community Hospital. Floyd was born March 2nd, 1935. The son of Allan John McGlinchey and Amelia Ada (Brown) McGlinchey in St Stephen NB, Canada.
He attended schools in St Stephen and Calais graduating in 1952 from Calais Memorial High School. He worked five years for St. Croix Paper Company and many Construction companies as a Master Electrician retiring in 1996 as a member of local 1253 IBEW. In 1954 he married Florence Moore and together they raised three daughters Luann, Laurie, and Joni. Floyd served 9 years in the Maine National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1959 with the rank of Master Sergeant.
He was predeceased by his wife Florence, his parents, one son Allan Dale McGlinchey, sister Marie McPhee, nephew Danny McPhee, sisters-in-law Pamela Fader and Frances Eagan, and brother-in-law Donald Eagan.
He is survived by his three daughters, Luann Weatherby and partner Bruce Morgan, Laurie Linton and husband John, and Joni Beauchamp and her husband Dean; granddaughters, Stephanie Mawbe (Stuart) and Emily MacWilliams (Ryan); grandsons, Lucas Pelletier and partner Teresa Cole, and Nathan Pelletier and partner Lauren Gray; great-granddaughter Kali MacWilliams and great-grandson Ty MacWilliams; nieces Kimberly Carter (Warren), Angelia Day (Vinnie), Diane Anderson (Larry), and Paula Williams(David); nephews Donald Eagan (Mary Lou), Edwin Eagan, Richard McPhee (Nancy), and Kenneth McPhee; many great nieces and nephews; special neighbors and special friends, Eleanor, Sally, Sandy & friends, Janice, Kay, Joe, Hollis, Ben, Aaron, Bill, Bob, and so many other good friends “ You know who you are!”.
