Baileyville – Francis Wayne "Brow" Morrison, 73, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 surrounded by his family at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Francis was born in Portland on October 15, 1942, son of the late Francis and Kathleen (Gove) Morrison. After graduating from Shead Memorial High School he went to work for Guilford Industries as a laborer. Francis later worked for General Water Works in Eastport before returning to Guilford Industries, where he was employed until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hand-line fishing in Eastport with his wife and children, hunting with his grandsons Alex and Ben, and spending time with his only granddaughter Sam enjoying summers at “the lake”. Francis’ most cherished times were those spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother Gary Morrison; and a nephew Steven Morrison. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Betty (Hallowell) Morrison; two children, Brenda Brown and husband Tom of Cooper, and Wayne Morrison and wife Amy of Baileyville; three grandchildren, Samantha Hatch and husband Nathan of Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and Alexander and Benjamin Morrison of Baileyville; father-in-law and special friend Ira Herbert Hallowell of Baileyville; his sister Brenda Bowley and husband Richard of Brooksville, FL; a brother Sanford Morrison and wife Jean of Calais; sister-in-law Heather Morrison of Perry; many nieces and nephews; his feline companion Lucky; and his “granddog”, Pepper.
A celebration of Francis’ life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Restlawn Cemetery in Perry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Steven Morrison Scholarship Fund, c/o Bangor Savings Bank, 54 Washington St., Eastport, ME 04631.
