Obituary for Geneva Marie LaCoote

Indian Township – Geneva Marie LaCoote, 42, died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at a Bangor hospital. Gen was born in Calais, December 11, 1964, daughter of Lawrence and Loretta (Sopiel) LaCoote Sr. She enjoyed playing bingo, going for walks, and spending time with her family and friends. Gen was predeceased by her father, her grandparents, and a sister, Maria LaCoote. Surviving are her loving companion, Gerald Stevens; her mother, Loretta LaCoote; five sons, Dustin LaCoote, Clint Sabattus, Lance Sockabasin, Corey LaCoote, and Dylan LaCoote; three sisters, Elizabeth LaCoote, Maria Nicholas and husband Leslie, and Sylvia Sockabasin and companion Nancy Polches, all of Indian Township; three brothers, Dean LaCoote, of Indian Township, and Lawrence LaCoote Jr. of Summersville, WV, and Dominic LaCoote of Brewer; special cousins, Juanita Sopiel of Calais and Anne Sopiel of Indian Township; a special aunt, Marjorie LaCoote; special friends, Lillian Howard and Janet Neptune; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Friends may call starting 7 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Tuesday at her mothers home, 57 Hemlock Point Rd., Indian Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Frank Morin, 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Ann Mission, Peter Dana Point. Burial will follow at the Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais.
