Pleasant Point – George Peter Georgantis, 32, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his home. George was born in Calais on August 15, 1979, son of Robert Georgantis and Mary (Francis) Baxter. He graduated from Washington Academy and worked various jobs throughout his life. George loved the outdoors and enjoyed animals and fishing. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Daniel Francis; paternal grandparents George and Kathryn Georgantis; a sister Sherry Ann Georgantis; and an uncle Alan Georgantis. Surviving are his fiancé Crystal McGuire; his three beautiful children, Gabriel, Brianna and Aidan, all of Pleasant Point; his mother Mary Baxter and her husband Ed of Baxley, GA; his father Robert Georgantis and his wife Christina of Perry; maternal grandmother Rebecca Francis of Pleasant Point; three sisters, Deborah Mitchell and her husband Joseph Mitchell Sr. of Pleasant Point, Lisa Trueworthy and her husband Charles of Portland, and Sandra Lewey of Pleasant Point; two brothers Robert Georgantis Jr. of Perry, and Derrick Dunne of Parsonsfield; his Godmother, Molly Newell of Pleasant Point; his Godfather David Nicholas of Pleasant Point; his Godchild, Thomas Francis of Pleasant Point; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and numerous friends. Visiting hours will begin 11 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012 at 31 Warrior Rd., Pleasant Point. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Monday, April 2, at St. Ann R.C. Church, Pleasant Point with Rev. James Plourde as Celebrant. Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Tribal Cemetery, Pleasant Point. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
