Gerry was very adept with her hands, packing fish, making wreaths, sewing quilts, crocheting and baking. She was employed in many fish factories in Eastport and Lubec. During WWII she was a day care provider for the Works Progress Administration. During WWII she worked with ladies wrapping bandages for the war. She and her mother were also aircraft spotters during the War. She and her husband Bill owned and operated Bill’s Antiques in Perry. She enjoyed family gatherings and loved to travel. She especially loved Christmas time. She had a real love for figuring out quilt patterns and afghan patterns. Gerry was well known for using scraps from recycled garments found in her treasure box of cloth. She stitched and restored many quilts from tiny bits of cloth from her scrap box. Each one bound in love for the tiniest baby, the sick, and each child and grandchild. Her quilts are a story of family and love that continues to bind us together as the thread holds together those pieces of cloth. May we continue this heritage! She attended and was baptized at the North Christian Church in Eastport.
