Gerard Koed

Eastport – Gerard Koed, 50, died unexpectedly on February 2, 2009 at his home in Eastport. Gerard was born in Natick, MA on June 5, 1958, son of the late Bertel and Alice (Jones) Koed. Gerard lived in Massachusetts where he worked as a painter and carpenter for many years until in 2000, the love for the ocean led him to Eastport. Gerard enjoyed woodworking, carving, fishing, hiking, camping, organic gardening, dogs and scuba diving. Gerard is survived by his siblings, Michelle Coates and her husband Randy, Frederick Koed and his wife Lisa, and Bill Koed, all of Cohasset, MA; many nieces and nephews; dear friends Bill and Kay Hodgdson of Greenville, ME; Mike Renaud of Bethel, ME; James Lintott of Eastport, and “Crash” Barry of Eastport; and many other dear friends. A celebration of Gerard’s life will be held at a later date in Massachusetts. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Homes, Calais & Eastport.
