St. Stephen, N.B. – Gertrude M. Carrier, 63, died Sunday, July 01, 2007 at a St. John hospital. Gertrude was born in St. John, December 8, 1943, daughter of the late Michael and Cecile (Guignard) Frigault. She married Fred J. Carrier in 1964. Gertrude was employed for several years at Clark’s Variety in Calais. She was a Communicant of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church in Calais. Gertrude enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time with her grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Ivan Frigault. Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Fred Carrier; three children, Michael Carrier and his wife Julie and Scott Carrier and his wife Crystal, both of Calais, and Tonya Carrier and her companion Denny Crowden of Virginia Beach, VA; four sisters, Diane Doucette and her husband Art of St. John, N.B., Levina Losier of Charlottetown, P.E.I., Teresa Ball and her husband John of Alberta, and Jeanette Stills and her husband Jim of Toronto; five grandchildren, Courtney, Devon, Dylan, Colby and Darian; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. (US Time) Tuesday at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, Maine. Visiting hours will follow till 8 p.m. (US Time).
