TRESCOTT TOWNSHIP - Glenn Earl Dinsmore, 92, born on November 21, 1930, died peacefully after a short illness due to COVID.  Glenn was born in Edmunds and until he joined the Navy in 1950, he lived in Trescott Township. He was the son of Frank and Grace (Carter) Dinsmore. He graduated from Washington Academy in 1949 and was a Korean War Veteran.  He worked at IBM in Kingston, NY for 30 years and retired back to the "the farm on the hill" - his favorite place to be.  He worked for Al Lyford Construction for several years, well into his 80's, and only truly retired because of failing eyesight.  He attended Machias Valley Baptist Church for many years and served as a Deacon there.  He was also a Boy Scout leader of Rip VanWinkle Troop 103 in Kingston, NY.

Glenn was a much-loved community member and was always happy to lend a hand to help in any way he could. He loved to work with wood and could often be found in his garage making Adirondack chairs, whirly-gigs or some piece of furniture requested by his family.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of 53 years, Joyce (Durgan).  He is survived by his six children; Cynthia who lives in Kingston, NY, Dwight and his wife Barbara of Lexington, KY, Lori Yensan and her husband Richard of Trescott Township, Paula Murrow and her husband Derek of Northampton, PA, Robert and his husband Michael of Kingston, NY and Scott and his wife Jayna of Devens, MA.  He also had a very special "daughter", Brenda Bilyou, and her partner Pat.  Glen had 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  He also had a wonderful relationship with his cousin, Lettie (Ackley) Kinghorn of Carmel, ME, he has numerous nieces and nephews and is probably related to over 1/2 of Lubec.

A special, heartfelt thank you goes to the wonderful, caring staff of the Maine Veterans Home of Machias, where he spent the last 20 months of his life.  This facility is a gift to this area.  He could not have been taken care of any better and loved all his caregivers.  He commented daily on the "top notch" care he got there.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a date and time to be determined. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home Calais & Eastport.
