Calais – Glennis Carla O’Neill, 55, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at a Bangor hospital. Glennis was born in Calais on June 15, 1956, daughter of Calvin and Elaine (Thompson) Johnson. She graduated from Calais High School, Class of 1974. Glennis worked various jobs with Duty Free, Georgia Pacific and Fenderson Insurance. She was a member of North Perry United Methodist Church, was Pastor Worthy Advisor for the Calais Assembley #18 Rainbow for Girls, Grand Cross of Color, and was Past Worthy Matron of Orion Chapter #45 Order of the Eastern Star, where she was serving as Associate Conductress of Orion Chapter #45 this year. Glennis enjoyed knitting, four wheeling, fishing and loved animals. She was predeceased by her father Calvin Johnson; a brother Craig Johnson; and sister Rebecca Joan Johnson. Surviving are her husband James O’Neill; her mother Elaine Johnson; her son Calvin Walker of Calais; a grandson Bryson Walker; brother Harold Douglas Johnson, all of Calais; two uncles Ernest Johnson of Robbinston and Bernard Johnson and his wife Ann of Calais; sister-in-law Kathleen O’Neill of Freeport; nieces and nephews Barekah Fisher, Joshu Fisher and Kelci O’Neill; several cousins; and her two faithful canine companions Ace and Evie. A celebration of Glennis’ life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Calais United Methodist Church, 849 Main St., Calais. Burial will follow in the Calais Cemetery.
