North Carolina – The family of Gordon Lee Cox, “Dusty”, 49, is saddened to announce his passing on February 19, 2013. Gordon was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, son of Alexander Gordon Cox and a beautiful, loving mother, Teresa Irene (Townsend) Cox. Gordon lived most of his adult life on the open road. He traveled throughout the United States and made many friends along the way. He joined the U.S. Army in the early 1980’s and was medically discharged. The most enjoyable part of his childhood was spent in Eastport, Maine. Gordon enjoyed reading, music, watching football games and discussing and describing the view from wherever he was visiting. Gordon was predeceased by his parents; special grandmother, Alma Townsend; brothers, Murray and Bernard and his sister Sharon. He leaves behind brothers, Donald Hooper and his wife Dorothy, Richard Cox and his wife Shirley, James Cox and his wife Kim, Barry Cox and his wife Cindy and Dennis Myers and his wife Roberta; sisters, Alta Cox Boothby, Arrolyn “T.Jay” Cox, and Gwen Cox Lujan and her husband, Joseph. In addition he will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends. Donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to a food pantry or homeless shelter of your choice.
