Grace Mary LaCoote

Indian Township – Grace Mary LaCoote, 67, passed away Friday, May 31, 2013 at her home in Indian Township. Grace was born in Indian Township on July 9, 1945, daughter of the late Michael and Lillian (Gabriel) Tomah. She attended Indian Township schools and in 1974 married Basil LaCoote. Grace enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Noel and Walter. Surviving are her husband Basil; five children, Michael LaCoote and his wife Chevy, Basil LaCoote Jr., Archie LaCoote, Daniel LaCoote and his fiancé Stacey Dana, and Stephen LaCoote; seven grandchildren, Kelsey, Michael Jr., Gabriel, Zachary, Malsom, Daniel Jr., and Leona; one sister Marjorie LaCoote; a special friend Theresa Downing many nieces and nephews; and her two faithful canine companions Baby and Spike. Visiting hours will begin 11 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2013 at her home, 98 US Route 1, Indian Township, until Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Peter Dana Point. Burial will follow in the Tribal Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
