Princeton – Grant Franklin Cilley, 44, born on October 17th, 1969, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 3, 2013 in a tragic accident. Grant was known to all as a friend, a son, a brother, a loving husband, father, and as “Grampy”. Through Grant’s many selfless acts he touched and saved many lives. He was an active member of the emergency medical system, serving almost 30 years with the Princeton Fire Dept., and with 12 of those years serving as leader and Fire Chief. Through his passion and wisdom, Grant shared much of his life doing the things he loved such as being “up ta camp”, hunting, fishing, and boating while spending his time among family and friends.
Grant was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his mother Janice (Saunders) Cilley. He is survived by his father Emerson Cilley; his loving wife of 25 years, Mary (Newman) Cilley; daughter Amanda and her husband Graeme Riser; his one and only granddaughter, his “Honey Bunny”, Sienna; mother-in-law Beth Newman; brother Moses Cilley and his wife Susan; his only niece Jan; brother-in-law Tony Newman and wife Amanda; special nephew Evan MacArthur; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; extended friends and family, Tammy and Billy, Vance, Gary and Jen, Gary and Becky, Troy and Maureen, Chris and Melanie Cochran, and too many more to mention in such a short remembrance. A celebration of Grant’s life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Princeton Rod & Gun Club in Princeton.
