CALAIS – H. Douglas Johnson, 60, passed away on November 17, 2013 at a Bangor hospital with his family by his side. Douglas was born to Calvin and Elaine (Thompson) Johnson on February 1, 1953 in St. Stephen, NB. He grew up in Calais where he graduated from Calais Memorial High School, class of 1973. Douglas will be remembered as a hard worker and humble man who put his family and those he loved first. He enjoyed logging and spending time in the forest or fishing the local brooks. In addition to his father, Douglas was predeceased by his two sisters, Glennis O’Neill and Rebecca Johnson and his brother Craig Johnson. He is survived by his mother, Elaine Johnson; nephew, Calvin Walker; brother-in-law, James O’Neill; two uncles, Bernard Johnson and his wife Ann, all of Calais and Ernest Johnson of Robbinston and several cousins. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, November 23rd at Calais Cemetery with Tessa Ftorek officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
