Baileyville – Harry T. Gaddis Jr., 88, died May 4, 2007 at a Bangor health care facility following a brief illness. Harry was born in 1919 in Baileyville, the son of Harry T. and Hope (Fleming) Gaddis Sr. He attended Woodland schools, graduating from Woodland High School, Class of 1937. Harry worked for Maine Central Railroad for 20 years, and Georgia-Pacific Corp. for 18 years. He was a member of the People’s United Methodist Church of Baileyville. Harry cherished his family and friends and enjoyed gardening, dancing, hunting and fishing. He was predeceased by his wife, Corinne (Reisch) Gaddis; two sisters, Margery Wahl and Pauline Craig; one brother, Phillip Gaddis Sr.; and a very special friend, S. Louise White. Surviving are three daughters, Laraine Knowles and husband Philip of Torrington, CT, Sandra Foster and husband Terry of Bucksport; and Sue Hood and husband Stephen of Bend, OR; seven grandchildren, Rhonda Knowles and Stephen Knowles, both of Torrington, CT, Christy Deleonardis and husband Dave of Elkton, VA, Krista Ottman and husband Daniel of Morrill, Kurt Foster and wife Donna of Fairfield, Devon Andrews and wife Kelly of Redmond, OR, Duane Andrews and wife Jody of Baileyville; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Holbrook and husband Thomas of Portland; two brothers-in-law, E. Mooney Craig of Orland, and Quentin Reisch and wife Joyce of Gorham, NH; and several nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff at Ross Manor in Bangor for everything they did for Harry. In lieu of flowers and at Harry’s request, please make donations in his memory to the Baileyville Ambulance Service or to the charity of one’s choice. Friends may call 1 – 2 p.m. Wednesday at the People’s United Methodist Church in Baileyville. A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Pastor Bernie Hammond officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais.
