Eastport – Helen Kathleen Conley, 84, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the Eastport Residential Care Facility. Helen was born in Eastport on September 13, 1922, daughter of the late Alexander and Vonnie Boone. She married William Henry Conley on August 17, 1940. Helen was a member of the Corner Stone Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband in 1971, four brothers, Hermon A. Boone, Endon John Boone, Howard D. Boone, and Fred L. Boone; and five sisters, Thresa I. Ross, Villa B. Newman, Myrtle G. Thompson, Elizabeth M. “Betty” Hugli, and Rena L. Dougherty. Surviving are her two children, Larry Conley and wife Karen of Newport News, VA, and Linda Ampungan and husband Rodrigo of Richmond, VA; three grandchildren, Kevin Conley of Hampton, VA, Rodrigo Ampungan Jr. and wife Judith of Eastport, and Marlana Nield and husband Christopher of Hagerstown, MD; two sisters, Winnie M. Morrison and husband Bruce of Eastport, and Martha P. Thompson and husband Justin of Cape Split, Addison; and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Helen’s Life will be held in the summer. The date will be announced in a later edition of the Quoddy Tides.
