Calais, Howard B. Cottrell, 88, passed peacefully with his family by his side and went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 28, 2008. He was born August 18, 1919 at Calais the son of George and Azelia (Phillips) Cottrell. Howard served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He owned and operated his own barbershop in Winterport and Mattawamkeag. Howard was predeceased by two sons Phillip and Craig Cottrell, three sisters Azelia Harper, Eunice Wheaton and Romona Ellwell, and three infant brothers. Survivors include his wife of 60 years Lorraine of Calais, three children Dana Cottrell and his wife Penny of CA., Stephen Cottrell and his wife Sheila of Baring, and Gail Cottrell of Calais, a sister Lovina Cochran of Princeton, 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Private graveside services for the family will be held 10:00 am Thursday May 1, 2008 at the Calais Cemetery with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating.
