Calais-Irma Cookson, 92, died peacefully in her sleep October 16, 2008 at Atlantic Rehab and Nursing Center. She was predeceased by her husband Wellington Cookson; her parents Raymond and Ivy Sprague, a stepmother Lil Sprague; two brothers, John and Edward Sprague; a sister Melva George; and a great granddaughter, Saige Ellsmore. She is survived by her three children, Gene Cookson and wife, Kaloua of Baring; Elaine Hamilton and her family, all of Florida; and Carleton Sprague and his family, all of Calais. She is also survived by a special granddaughter Tomi Ellsmore and husband Alan of Calais and a great granddaughter Addison Ellsmore. Most people will remember Irma from years of working at Clark’s Variety Store in Milltown and her waitressing at the Moosehorn in Baring. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family.
