Obituary for Jacqueline Ann Perkins

Grand Lake Stream – Jacqueline Ann Perkins, 74, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011 at the Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts. Jacqueline was born in Eastport on January 31, 1937, daughter of the late Clifford and Pauline (Chute) Cox. After graduating from Woodland High School in Baileyville, she attended the University of Maine in Farmington, graduating with a Bachelors degree in Home Economics and Education. Jacqueline taught school at Woodland High School and Woodland Elementary School for 31 years. Along with her husband Jack, they owned and operated Indian Rock Camps in Grand Lake Stream for 17 years. Jacqueline was active in Grand Lake Stream and helped start the annual July 4th parade. She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, boating, swimming, organizing parties, shopping and going for walks. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant daughter Jelaine. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, John “Jack” Perkins; two children, Jonathan Perkins and his wife Ildecio of Maryland, and Sue Vose-Perkins of Grand Lake Stream and her companion Alvin Sarnecki of Howland; three grandchildren, Kaylee Perkins of Maryland, Alicia Vose and her companion Brian Coffill of Virginia, and Brett Vose of Grand Lake Stream; her brother Marvin Cox and his wife Ardie of Wyoming; a special family member Kim Vose of Grand Lake Stream; many nieces and nephews; and her canine companion Amos. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Village Cemetery in Grand Lake Stream with her son, Pastor Jonathan Perkins officiating. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
