Obituary for Jacqueline Betty Wallace

Baileyville – Jacqueline Betty Wallace, 81, went to be with her Lord & Savior on Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Atlantic Rehab & Nursing Center in Calais. Jacqueline was born in Baileyville on May 28, 1928, daughter of the late Ceiward and Reta (Kennedy) Campbell. She graduated from St. Croix High School, Class of 1945. Jacqueline worked for the St. Croix Paper Co. until she married James Wallace on November 23, 1946. They moved to Washington D.C., where James was stationed in the military, and she worked as a typist for the government. Returning to Baileyville in the late 1940’s, she started her career with the Town of Baileyville, where she was employed as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the Church of the Living Stone and the Spednic Club. Jacqueline and James enjoyed politics, and they both served as state delegates. Retiring in 1980, they bought a RV and traveled throughout the United States. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, reading, politics, music, aerobics and singing with her church during Cantatas. Jacqueline was also an avid Red Sox and Celtics fan. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband James in 2008; and three brothers, Ray, Ceiward and Frank Campbell. Surviving are her four children, Rhonda Singer and her husband Gary of Baileyville, Stephanie Williams and her husband Raymond of Fredericton, N.B., Kimberly Wallace and her companion Wayne Potter of Virginia Beach, VA, and Valerie Robinson and her husband Jim of Gulf Shores, AL; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Thompson of East Corinth and Barbara Gibson and her husband Bill of Calais; three brothers, Shirley Campbell of Bangor, Donald Campbell and his wife Elizabeth of Oak Bay, N.B., and Stephen Campbell and his wife Phyllis of Baileyville; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
