Pleasant Point – James Anthony “Jim Bob” Bailey Sr., 49, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, June 24, 2019 at a Bangor hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. James was born in Eastport on January 16, 1970, son of Stanislaus and Elizabeth (Craig) Bailey.
After graduating from Shead Memorial High School, Class of 1987, James moved to New Hampshire where he worked for Prime Tanning Leather Factory. Eventually he returned home where he worked as a carpenter and seasonal work. James loved the outdoors and enjoyed going for walks and hunting eagle feathers. His most cherished moments were those spent with his family and friends.
James was predeceased by his father, Stanislaus Anthony Bailey. Surviving are his mother, Elizabeth Bailey; his wife Tara Francis-Bailey, both of Pleasant Point; two children, James Bailey Jr. of Bangor, and Jillian Bailey of Rochester, NH; two sisters, Brenda Breeze Ritter and husband of Princeton, and Mary Jo Bailey of Pleasant Point; nieces and nephews, Thomas Francis, Lenny Francis Jr, Dawn Francis, Randy Roderick, Tolbert Choneska and Cote Choneska; father-in-law Carroll Francis of Pleasant Point; two step-daughters, A1C Glenda Francis, U.S.A.F. of Turkey, and Lacoiya Francis-Perez of Pleasant Point; numerous friends; and his faithful canine companion, Lillian James Bailey.
Visiting hours will be held at his mother’s home, 26 Middle Rd., Pleasant Point beginning 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27 until 11 a.m. Saturday, June 29. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
