Calais – James R. Clark Sr., 76, died Friday, October 14, 2005, at a Calais nursing home. Jim was born in Calais, January 1, 1929, son of the late Fredrick W. and Hannah F. (Fitzsimmons) Clark. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps before transferring to the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1952 and was a Veteran of the Korean War. Jim was employed with Georgia Pacific Corp. for many years. He was a member of Sherman Bros. Post #3 American Legion, a past member of the Milltown Fire Department, and loved to fish and hunt. Besides his mother and father, Jim was predeceased by a sister, Thelma Hunnewell, and a granddaughter, Bonnie Dempsey. Surviving are his wife Theda of Calais; a sister, Charlotte Fleming; two brothers, Frederick W. Clark and wife Shirley of Waterville, and John F. Clark and wife Yoshiko of Rialto, CA; two daughters, Brenda Dempsey of Calais and Kimberly Wilson and husband Harold of Calais; four sons, Ralph F. Clark and wife Vicki of Rumford, Philip R. Clark and wife Jolene of Calais, James R. Clark Jr. and wife Patricia of Calais, and Fredrick W. Clark of Calais; one stepdaughter, Donna Spearin of Charlotte; two stepsons, Tony Leavitt and Danny Thibault, both of Calais; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and fishing buddy Bill Healy. Friends may call Thursday, 6 – 8 p.m. at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A memorial service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calais Cemetery.
