Obituary for James Daniel McPhee

Baileyville – James “Danny” McPhee, 63, passed away December 26, 2014 with his family by his side at a Bangor hospital. Danny was born March 19, 1951 to John and Marie (McGlinchey) McPhee in Calais. On December 27, 1970 during a record breaking blizzard Danny married Muriel B. Crosby in Baileyville. During that same year he began his 20 year enlistment in the United States Army that would later station Danny and Muriel in many places around the world. After his retirement in 1990, they returned home to Baileyville where Danny enjoyed hunting and fishing with Elwin Daley and John Gallant; exploring the woods on his four wheeler and umpiring and refereeing local sporting events. In addition to his parents Danny was predeceased by his father-in-law, Charles Crosby and sister-in-law, Cathy Crosby. He will be sadly missed by his wife of almost 44 years, Muriel McPhee; step mother, Dodie McPhee of Baileyville; mother-in-law, Beverly Crosby of Baileyville; five siblings, Kenny McPhee and his wife Liz of Sanford, Dick McPhee and his wife Nancy of Baileyville, Paula Williams and her husband David of Robbinston, John McPhee and his companion Jocelyn Storey of Baileyville, and Mark McPhee and his wife Crystal of Princeton; sister-in-law, Diane Roderick of Baileyville; three brothers-in-law, Frank Crosby and his wife Sandra, Jerry Crosby and his companion Nancy Treadwell, and Philip Crosby, all of Baileyville; many nieces and nephews; special friends John and Jo Gallant of Baileyville and Elwin and Genie Daley of Alexander and his very special canine companion Maggie Mae. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30th at The People’s United Methodist Church in Baileyville followed by a celebration of Danny’s life at 2:00 p.m.
