James H. Morton, 84, of Eastport, Maine, passed away November 19th at his home. Jim was born in Chicago, IL, on December 19th, 1936.
He served in the U.S State Department as a Foreign Service Officer from 1964 to 1987 in Luxemburg, Greece, Switzerland, New Zealand and Washington, D.C. In addition to training US Foreign Service Officers (where he met Colleen), James trained foreign diplomats in Albania, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Bosnia, Slovakia, the Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. He and his wife loved to travel, but he loved Eastport and spent as much time there as he could.
He is survived by his wife, Colleen Morton (Shores); his son David Morton of Maryland; his son Luke Morton of Minnesota; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and his brother Donald Morton of Las Vegas, NV.
In keeping with James’ wishes, there will be no service. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
