Obituary for James Edwin Segien Jr.

Eastport - James Edwin Segien Jr., 72, of Eastport, passed on to the eternal life with Jesus at his home, "Northeast Marina" surrounded by his loved ones on June 22, 2017. "Bubba", as known to his family, was born in Eastport February 27, 1945 to the late James E. Segien Sr. and Inez (Morrison) Segien. He attended the Eastport schools and graduated from Shead Memorial High School in 1963.

He then moved to Everett, MA and worked at the Medford, MA. Steel Mill for several years. Jimmy then joined the United States Navy, serving as an Electrician's Mate on the U.S.S. Telfair stationed in Norfork, VA. After his retirement from the Navy, Jimmy lived on "the farm" in Newfield, ME for 20 years. Jimmy then returned home to Eastport where he owned and operated the Northeast Variety and Northeast Marina. He also married his current wife, Paula (Richardson) Segien on June 25, 1989.

Jimmy was predeceased by his loving father, James E. Segien Sr.; and his former wife and mother to his two children, Moneda Auclair. Survivors include his mother Inez Segien and his wife Paula Segien, both of Eastport. Daughter Dierdre Segien of Albuquerque, NM and son Roger Brent Segien and his wife Frannie of Eastport. Brother Ron Segien and wife Peggy of Eastport and Clearwater, FL. Sister Kathy (Segien) LePage and husband Larry of Cornish, ME. Two granddaughters, Sarah Segien and Shelly Segien and Great-granddaughter Aubree Rae Trott and great-grandson Grayson Wayne Candelmo, all of Eastport. Nephew Michael Paul Segien of Eastport and his two nieces Susan Segien of Portland, ME and Jennifer Segien-Gartland of Waterboro, ME and their families. One aunt Vonalyn Harris of Eastport and one uncle Richard Segien of Massachusetts and many cousins and loyal friends who will miss him immensely. Jimmy loved and admired his family above all. They were the pride and joy of his life. Next came his passion for animals and his "old cars".

A graveside service with military honors will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017 at Bayside Cemetery, Eastport. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
