James Grant Wilson

Perry – James G. Wilson, 84, passed away on November 16, 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family after a short illness. Jimmy was born to Jack and Mabel (Rogers) Wilson on August 19, 1937, in Eastport. He was a proud U.S. Coast Guard Veteran with 20+ years of service.

Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his wife, their children, and grandchildren and having them all home on Christmas Eve for their traditional spaghetti dinner.

Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, Jack & Mable Wilson; his father and mother-in-law, Reginald and Lillian Seeley; a brother Fred; sisters, Ethel, Helen “Hubba”, Beverly, Jackie, and Dawn; brothers-in-law, Frankie Seeley, Ken Strong, and Jack Arensberg.

He is survived by the love of his life of 41 years, Regina; daughters, Jaime Trainor and her husband Shamus of Robbinston, Michelle Stanhope and her husband Mark of Pembroke, and Laurie Preston of Perry; a son, Denny Lyon and his wife Debbie of Perry; three sisters, Pam Strong, Marcia Arensberg and Cory Critchley and her husband Benny; grandchildren Brittany Seavey, Wesley Lyon, Logan Lyon, Paige Wilson, Ashley Lyon, Madison Lyon, Elizabeth Trainor, Keegan Trainor, and Matthew Stanhope; his great granddaughter, Magdalena Bliss Mills, who were all the light of his life. Additionally, he leaves behind, many nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Lynn McPhail, and Betsy Craig; sister-in-law, Phyllis Seeley, and special friends Roger and Gail Keezer.

Jimmy’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to all the CHCS nurses and staff who made it possible for him to spend his last days at home with his family, where he wanted to be. Without all of you, we would have never gotten through this extremely difficult time, you will never know how much we appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you also, to Downeast EMS and Perry Volunteer Fire Department, we appreciate all your care and compassion.

In keeping with Jimmy’s wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Travis Mills Foundation in memory of James Wilson at travismillsfoundation.org
