James Douglas Wilson

Calais – James Douglas “Sonny” Wilson, 74, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 15, 2012 at his home in Calais. Sonny was born in Calais on June 14, 1938, son of the late James and Geraldine (McCurdy) Wilson. After graduating from Calais Memorial High School, Class of 1958, he was hired at Georgia Pacific, where he worked for 34 years, retiring in 2000. In his younger years, Sonny was a member of the Demolay, and later the St. Croix Bowling Club, Spednic Club and Odd Fellows. Surviving are his companion Doreen Hill of Calais; his sister Linda Tracy of Calais; two brothers, Paul Wilson of St. Stephen, NB, and Tommy Wilson of Calais; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Marie McGarrigle of Calais. A celebration of Sonny’s life will be held 1 pm Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Mays Funeral Home in Calais. Burial will follow in Calais Cemetery.
