Janice Marie Mallory (Thistlewood)

Baileyville – Janice Marie Mallory, 73, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Janice was born in Alexander on August 2, 1940, daughter of the late Robert and Verna (Craft) Thistlewood. After attending school in Alexander she married Michael Moores and together they raised their two children. Janice worked in the kitchen at Atlantic Rehab & Nursing Center in Calais. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, helping stray animals, and spending time with her family. Janice was a member of Woodland Baptist Church and the Spednic Club.

In addition to her parents, Janice was predeceased by her first husband Michael Moores; her second husband Richard Mallory; and her sister Flossie Gilmore. Surviving are her two daughters, Vicki Lazzaro and husband Tony of Baileyville, and Suzette Mulholland and husband Kenneth of Alexander; four grandchildren, Candi Lazzaro and companion Jake Gagner of Baileyville, Nicole LaPointe and husband Jeremy of Bangor, Jamie Mulholland of Alexander, and Kenneth Mulholland of Alexander; five great-grandchildren, Morgan, Paige, Alanna, Jordan, and Keira; special friends Anne Trott and Bonnie Marble; numerous other friends; and her feline companions Peaches and Kissy.

A celebration of Janice’s life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Woodland Baptist Church in Baileyville. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
