Jean Evelyn Knowles

Alexander – Jean Evelyn Knowles, 83, passed away peacefully in Calais on Sunday January 23, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was born in Calais on November 15, 1927 to George and Edith (Shain) McLaughlin. She was predeceased by her husband, Merle H. Knowles Sr., her son, Leslie V. Knowles Sr., and her grandson Leslie V. Knowles Jr. Surviving are her two sons, Merle H. Knowles Jr., and his family and John E. Knowles and his family, all of Alexander; a brother, Ronald McLaughlin and his family of Portland and several grandchildren and their families. A graveside service will be held at Alexander Cemetery on Wednesday, January 26th at 12:00 noon.
