Jeannette Trott, 90, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor. She was born on July 30, 1933, in Robbinston, Maine, to parents Harry and Gatha (Hanley) Small.
Throughout her life, Jeannette worked at various factories in Eastport. She loved to make Christmas wreathes as well as fishing and hunting. She enjoyed the game of baseball and was a dedicated fan of the Boston Red Sox. When she was young, it was said she was a better player than the boys. Jeannette loved to travel with her friends and her many bus tours brought her cherished memories. She loved to shop, always looking for a good deal, right up to her final days.
Jeannette cherished her time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her kindness to others and always saying a prayer or visiting someone in need. She boldly shared her faith in Jesus and the impact it had on her and her family.
Jeannette was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband of 48 years, Frank Trott, and her oldest son Donald, who was killed in the Vietnam War. She is survived by a son, Frank Trott Jr of Pembroke, three daughters, Vivian Cummings and husband Bruce of Levant, Susan Clark and husband Kevin of Bangor and Ada Raye and her husband William of Marshfield, as well as her grandchildren, Charity, Joel, Tina, Kelli, Sara, Adam, Brandon, Nicholas and Lauren. Jeannette was also survived by her great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her extended family in Calais where she spent her later years and special friends, Lorraine and David Daggett, who were always there for her.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all who knew and loved Jeannette, and to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their compassionate care in her final days.
In keeping with Jeannette’s wishes, there will be no formal service. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
