Obituary for Jimmy Bohanon

BAILEYVILLE – Alton Gary Bohanon, 68, passed away unexpectedly at his home April 7, 2013. He was born May 6, 1944 in Calais, son of the late Asher Chester Bohanon and Beatrice Leighton Bayliss. Jimmy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from June of 1965 until he was honorable discharged in June of 1967 serving over a year and a half overseas. After his return home Jimmy began a business venture with his brother Monte in 1969 with the establishment of Bohanon’s Incorporated, an auto repair shop that’s still in business today. Jimmy was predeceased by his parents. Surviving are his son, Jamie Bohanon; daughters, Jennifer Nott, Nancy Carlow, all of Baileyville, Tina Flack of Washington, D.C., and special son-in-law Joe Nott of Baileyville; grandchildren, Dustin Bohanon of Fort Bragg, NC, Tannis Hawkins and Chandler Nott of Baileyville; brothers and sisters, Monte and Linda Bohanon, Judy and Gene Fenlason, Evelyn Corbett, Barbara Landry, all of Baileyville, Francis Bohanon and companion Eileen Newnan and Shirley Dwelley, all of Princeton; many nieces and nephews; his special friends from the garage, all his card and breakfast friends and his two canine buddies, Fenway and Bruin. A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will begin at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11th at the Spednic Club, 6 Third Ave., Baileyville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jimmy’s memory to the Baileyville Rec. Department PO Box 370, Baileyville, ME 04694. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
