John Francis Lawless Sr.

Baring – John Francis Lawless Sr., 74, passed away on February 9, 2016 at a Calais hospital with his family by his side. John was born July 6, 1941 to Francis and Helena (Hayes) Lawless in Woodland. He grew up in Baring where he worked various jobs over the years including construction and working in the woods. John married Arline Hall on November 26, 1960 in Calais and together they raised their six children in Baring. It was his family that brought John his greatest joy. He enjoyed every minute spent with his grandchildren, playing baseball was one of his favorite ways to pass time with them. He loved all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely and that love was mutual.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his son, David Lawless; and his two sisters, Mary Charlton and Patricia Brown. He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Arline Lawless; five children, John Lawless Jr. of Baring, Tammy Sanford and her husband Michael of Baileyville, Brenda Perkins and her husband Timothy of Rockland, Scott Lawless of Lewiston, and Francis Lawless and his companion Gertrude Damon of Baring; a brother, William Lawless and his wife Beverly of Alexander; eleven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with John’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
